About

Hey, I am Jackie Wong and I am a recent graduate from the University of British Columbia with a degree in Kinesiology. I registered for this course because I wish to learn more about the Physiotherapy profession. I have always been fascinated and appreciative of Physiotherapists because of the knowledge and skills that they have and use to help people. More specifically, by the end of this course I hope to gain more understanding about how to interact with patients with integrity and in their best interest. I am both realistic and idealistic meaning things that I wish would change for the better will always be in my mind but I understand goals need to be achieved step by step. Some of the most important aspects that I wish all healthcare professionals would improve on and maintain are interpersonal connection, empathy, and compassion towards their patients.

A little personal side:

I used to enjoy martial arts, tennis, snowboarding, various other sports but now I have stopped several of these activities. For 3-4 years, I have been dealing with chronic and debilitating foot problems such as metatarsalgia, tendonitis/tendonosis, peroneal tendon subluxation, and other issues. Therefore, I wish to pursue a career in Physiotherapy and educate people on how to prevent and treat acute and chronic issues that are growing immensely all around the world.
